There's been a lot of good things said about Ben's burgers. Personally, after trying fellow Valley burger joints Chur Burger and the Emporium's Burger Fuel, Ben's burger is my current go-to for the best burger in the Valley, and at the time I write this, they actually lay claim to my favourite burger in all of Brissie.

It's not just me who's put them in the running for Brisbane's best burger. is always among good company in any listicle of Brisbane's best burgers, but its appreciation even extends nationwide. Ben's made the cut of Urban List's best Australian 11 burgers of 2014 , and this year came in at number 22 of news.com.au best burgers in Australia. With buzz like this, you know that these buns are worth biting into.

Tucked away in trendy Winn Lane in the Valley, Ben's Burger menu is short and sweet. There's only three burgers to choose from, but when it comes to a good burger, sometimes less is definitely more. Besides, all three are delicious. Each of the BB Classic, BB Special and BB Vegetarian include a glossed brioche bun packed full of succulent and delightful fillings. I've had both the Classic and the Special, and there's something about the simplicity of a burger done in the style only Americans know how that makes this place scream success. The BB vegetarian swaps patty for roasted mushroom, topped with parmesan, Swiss cheese, tomato, pickles, lettuce, onion and aioli, and even if you love your beef, looks also worth a try.

You can also tuck into sides, including the chilli cheese fries that pack a punch with their spice. Highly recommended. In the drink department, all things nice also include home style milkshakes, sodas including house-made cherry cola and, ginger beer, as well as Burleigh Brewing Co's pale ale and other foamy brews.

For me, I have to hav burger with a beer, and the 425ml college style keg cups filled with pale ale topped off my calorie-riffic $20 meal deal perfectly. If you are a sweet-toothed Jenny, you'll also likely tempted by dessert. Pecan or pumpkin pie in the cabinet looked set to delight, and chocolate brownies on the counter appeared to baked the way only girl guides know how.

Some things to remember though include that Ben's is strictly no alterations apart from adding sides such as bacon or double cheese to your burger. This may not suit everyone, nor may the limited menu, however if you're looking for classic burgers with classic ingredients, these pared back burgers will leave you breathless. We didn't say a word until the final bite was devoured. A sure sign of a approving eating experience if there ever was one.

is at 5B Winn Lane, Forittude Valley (Just off Ann Street)
