Busy Little Bees
Cling film or plastic wrap is a single-use product that is not reusable and ends up in landfill and our oceans, causing harm to the environment. So what's a great alternative? Beeswax wraps are, and if you've ever wanted to make your own, then this workshop is for you.

Ben Moore, of Ben's Bees will be running a two-hour Bees Wax Wraps Workshop at Prahran Market on Sunday 22 September 2019. The workshop will be split into two parts. In the first hour, Ben will provide plenty of information about bees and how important they are to the environment. He will also cover the many uses of honey and wax. During the second part of the workshop, Ben will teach you how to make your very own beeswax wraps that you'll get to take home. Plus you'll also receive a jar of beautiful honey fresh from Ben's Bees.

Each wrap is made of natural cotton that is embedded with beeswax and resins. Not only are they pliable, making them easy to use over different sized containers, but they are fully washable and can be used over and over again. These environmentally friendly wraps are great as presents, as well as for use in your own home.

The workshop will be run at the Omega and Neil Perry Kitchen within the Prahran Market. Tickets are $35.74 and can be purchased here.

"Now, you all know, I am a community man. I love getting out there with the people, sharing my love for all thing's bee-related, and trying, as best I can, to make the planet a better place. From my experience, I understand that communities exist on different levels, and being part of one involves sharing stories, skills and ideas. That's why community and adult education has always been so dear to my heart. And as you all know I am super passionate about ramping up the war on waste, I want us to get together and find new solutions for our wasteful habits." - Ben Moore.
