Benny's along Hindley Street in Adelaide specialises in American takeaway food. The restaurant was very popular with many of their customers ordering their dishes for takeaway or delivered.
We were delighted that the fried chicken breast in their Buffalo Chicken Burger had succulent flesh which was set off nicely by the crisp coating. There was enough buffalo sauce to provide a delectable spicy tang, with the fresh lettuce and cheese helping to balance it out.

Though their hot dogs are made with cheese Kransky sausages, the cheesy taste is actually quite mild; a relief for those concerned it may be too strong for them. Their Canadian Dog is notable for having maple syrup to add a bit of sweetness, which complemented the barbeque sauce well. Some bacon was also included to intensify the smoky taste of the hot dog. Many of their dishes came with a serving of fries, which were fried to golden brown and had the right amount of seasoning.

The quality of their Ribs was excellent, with flesh that can be easily separated from the bones even with the plastic cutlery provided. Out of the two varieties available, Barbeque and Hot Ribs, our favourite was the Hot Ribs which had a degree of spiciness that should be suitable for most tastes. The Barbeque Ribs were also enjoyable to eat, with enough smoky flavour to make eating it an enjoyable experience.

While we thought the Chicken Wings was a bit too salty for our tastes, the flesh was still juicy and contrasted wonderfully with the crisp exterior. Those that want something unique can choose to have the Garlic and Herb sauce; the garlicky flavour partnered beautifully with the wings. The sauce was served separately from the wings allowing diners to add as much or as little sauce as they want.

Benny's primarily caters for their dishes for takeaway orders but there are still a few seats for those that decide to dine in. Its relatively close location to the Adelaide CBD and universities makes it a convenient place for those with a craving for burgers that are different from that offered at the usual fast food outlets.
