The deeply musical city Bendigo
The Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music (BIFEM) is back from Friday 6 September to Sunday 8 September 2019. This unique event brings the most innovative and virtuosic concert music from all around the world, direct to Bendigo.

Since it began in September 2013, the festival has continued to receive international praise as it delivers to its audiences an experience not to be missed. This year promises to be no different with a 2019 program that will open your eyes to the world of explorative music.

Focusing on new and rarely performed works, BIFEM showcases virtuosity in musicianship and innovation in composition. With many Australian and world premiere events on offer this year, the festival once again offers a unique opportunity to hear from the best.

BIFEM is a free or low-cost festival, with tickets available for purchase here. A gold BIFEM pass, giving you access to all 10 ticketed events for the price of 8, costs $200 and is also available. As many BIFEM events have strictly limited numbers, you're advised to book early. Free events are unticketed and entry is not guaranteed once the venue has reached capacity.

Events are held in various venues, all within Bendigo's historic View Street Cultural precinct.

Bendigo is located approximately 150 kilometres north-west of Melbourne and is easily reached by car or public transport. More information on things to do around Bendigo can be found here.
