The
Bendigo Buttonfest is hosted by
The Victorian Button Collectors Club. Held on
Saturday 18 May 2019 from 9.30am to 3.30pm at
St Andrew's Uniting Church, 26 Myers St, Bendigo, entry is $4 per adult, and children under 12 go
FREE. It's a fun-filled day of things to see and do. There's a wide range of collectable buttons, plus a
Bendigo Historical Society Display, raffles, and antique, vintage and modern buttons for sale. Creative activities will provide fun for the kids from 10am till 3pm.
The goal of
The Club is to provide opportunities to study collectable sewing buttons and share that knowledge so you can appreciate the beauty and history of the buttons. There was very little public information about buttons in Melbourne till the Club became a reality in 1996. If you're a bit of a collector or want to be a part of
The Club and meet like-minded people, why not apply for
Membership.
Buttons To Go is a prime example of where the passion for
Button Craft can take you. Carole the owner and creative whom I've met and bought from, makes beautiful jewellery and more, crafted from retro, vintage, aged and modern buttons. From inheriting a lot of buttons to becoming a collector herself, she's always had a passion for craft and decided to create, using buttons of Mother of Pearl, Glass, Bakelite, Celluloid, Wood, Leather and Plastic Buttons, Buckles and Embellishments to name some of the materials she loves to use.
These include rings, brooches, pendants (pendant can be removed and used as a brooch), photo frames, paperweights, bookmarks, earrings (clip on and pierced), cuff links, embellished hangers, mirrors, scarf clips, scarf rings, hat pins and more. Very unique items; some with a history and a story to go. Carole exhibits and sells at many markets and events (what a unique gift for Mothers Day), so be sure to follow her to find out where she'll be next.
