The Bend & Snap indoor market is a craft and designer market with one distinct difference. Everybody has the chance to get 'crafty' at the Crafternoon Corner. Flex your creative muscle and get messy with the glitter and glue amongst other likeminded people and see what you come away with. Your talents might amaze you!
For nearly five years the Bend & Snap Market has been a featured outlet for the creative types among us. Those who simply cannot resist the urge to create and create and create some more – resulting in interesting and unique wonders sculptured out of anything and everything they can find.
For those of us who cannot, these markets are simply wonderful for meeting with those who can and picking up something really special, often direct from the artist or maker themself. Think art design and vintage wares from illustrators, fashion designers, jewellers and textile artists gathered in one convenient, charmingly quirky, city location.
Previous markets have featured lots of jewellery, planters, toys (that are not actually toys), handmade ceramic bowls with similarly handmade spoons, stationery items, clothing, fashion accessories, beauty products and more.
Housed in a lovely light and bright venue with artwork sprawled upon the walls, patrons can linger and enjoy an atmospheric morning tea in the Bend & Snap café.
The next market, being held on Sunday 25th September 2016, is the market's 5th birthday. Turn out between 11am to 4pm to enjoy what is sure to be a very festive celebration.
The final market for the year will be held on Sunday 18th December 2016 from 11am to 4pm.
The Bend & Snap Market is held at 1000 £ Bend, 361 Lt. Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Entry to the market is free.
1000 £ Bend is a thriving community space featuring a café, restaurant and bar in front, with a 'Gallery space' in back. There's also a chapel and an 'Events space' called The Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo and a cocktail bar upstairs called The Unknown Union, which is open Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm.
