We stumbled upon this pub on a Sunday morning after an early start. We were looking for something to eat as we had missed breakfast and by 11am, we were all ravenous.

It's next door to the IGA on Belvidere Street in Belmont, just 5 kms out of Perth city. We were going to pop into IGA to buy a snack when we saw the pub. We decided the pub was a better option and it absolutely was the right decision.

It is very light and airy in the restaurant area and what stood out straight away was how clean and tidy the place was. I know it hadn't long been open that morning and we were one of their first customers, but you could tell it was deep cleaned to a high standard which gave a good first impression.

We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who asked if we would like to sit inside or outside; there is a very cute beer garden come alfresco area. We opted for inside.

The menu, plus a specials board, has something for everyone. We chose chicken parmigiana $23.00, a pizza from the specials board $19.00 and a jalapeno melt burger $18.00. They also have a separate kids menu; $12.00 for a main, drink and entertainment pack. You can buy ice creams too, they start at $3.00.

Whilst waiting for our food, it is all freshly made so expect a 20-30 minute wait, we checked out the rest of the establishment.

The main bar is through double doors from the restaurant. There is a strong sports theme with quite a few big screens to watch your favourite sport, along with a pool table and cosy fire.

We were advised by the staff that they show all the main footy games and on the days of big games, they organise children entertainers to come in and amuse the kids to give the parents an opportunity to watch the match. Very young children would still need parental supervision. Previous events have included face painters, balloon twisting and craft tables. How good it that!

The alfresco area is very pleasant being mostly shaded with plenty of seating with some lovely decorative touches, wall heaters and it is fully enclosed with a gated entrance from the outside of the pub.

Again, it was really clean and tidy outside and is a no smoking area. There is a separate smoking area with tables and chairs, away from this area should you want to smoke.

There is a TAB off the main bar area which has all the latest self-betting systems too. You can enjoy a pint and a bet, which is already a winning combination!

We didn't mind the short wait for our food knowing it was freshly prepared and cooked. The chicken parmi was well presented and a good size. The chips were to die for; really crunchy with just the right amount of salt, the chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection and the salad was a nice accompaniment with a super dressing. My children were very, very happy and finished with completely clean plates.

The pizza was completely homemade and I can honestly say is the best pizza I have ever tasted, not just in Perth, but EVER anywhere in the world. A big statement, but true. It was crispy without being hard with just the right amount of toppings (sweet potato, feta, jalapenos, corn and onion complemented with rocket and finished with a balsamic glaze). The flavours worked really well and it was delicious.

The jalapeno melt was equally as good as the other food and the beef pattie was clearly homemade as stated on the menu. It was served on a trendy board and cooked with precision to ensure it was juicy and flavoursome.

The Belvidere's love of all things good, shines through; it even has it's own lager, Belvideres Lager, $7.50 a pint all day every day.

And just when you don't think things can get any better, they also have numerous specials running, like their Steak Nights (Thursdays) from $15.00 and Parmageddon (all day Tuesdays) where you can choose from 5 different $15.00 parmies and $2.00 for a drink.

Like their Facebook page to keep updated with their current deals (there are plenty).

Why not get there between 4.30pm-5.30pm Monday - Friday for Happy Hour - $5.00 schooners, spirits, stubbies and wine - then stay for dinner? You will not be disappointed.
