I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

The Belvedere Hotel (image JW)
With a prime position overlooking the Woody Point waterfront, a hotel has stood on this site since 1901.
The Belvedere Hotel is a magnet for locals, daytrippers and tourists in the know. The hotel is large with plenty of different areas for drinking and dining. The indoor-outdoor area is stylishly decorated with lots of white wood and greenery and can be partitioned off into private areas.

The Belvedere welcomes furry friends to the deck and children are catered for with a safe playground, indoor arcade game recreation area and meals for $9. There is a variety of drinking spots including a Sports Bar, a TAB and gaming lounge and a bottle shop on the premises.

There are over 18 local and craft beers on tap, cocktails and even premium wine on tap to enhance your experience. The
food is great and runs the gamut from small plates to large share platters and includes breakfast, burgers and pizzas.
The Belvedere caters for
celebrations of all types and they will take reservations for groups of eight or more. It was happily busy when we visited midweek but I imagine that it would become very crowded on weekends.

Lamb shank with Moroccan flavours (image JW)
The friendly server was happy to give recommendations and was spot on with her suggestions of the Moroccan flavoured lamb shanks and the sharwarma chicken. Both dishes were full of flavour and quite filling as well as being very colourful. The salmon, barramundi and burgers also got a big thumbs up from our dining companions.

If you happen to be in the area, you can't go past "The Bel" for a great time.
