I have a confession to make: I am a big fan of belly dancing and have been shimmying, hip-swaying and jingling for a few years now. So I am very excited to tell you what is happening in Brisbane during January.

Essential Brisbane Bellydance Weekender is Bellydance Brisbane's annual event. It is returning this year and is bigger and better than ever. It is celebrating its third year in 2021 with a new and delightful name of
"Ehsas El Hob" which mean
"Feel The Love". How lovely is that? Ehsas El Hob will feature a range of workshops and events designed to move you, groove you, soothe you and nurture your spirit to prepare you for a beautiful bellydancing year ahead. The weekend runs from Friday 15 January 2021 at 6:30 pm until Sunday 17 January at 6:30 pm, at 10 Love Street, Spring Hill.

Welcome Dinner Dance PartyThe
Ehsas El Hob 2021 Welcome Dinner Dance Party is a relaxed get-together to welcome guests and start the weekend of belly dancing. You will be able to meet and greet your workshop teachers and enjoy shared banquets plus soft drinks. There is the option to bring your own wine, beer or premixed alcoholic beverages if you wish. Dance the night away in the courtyard of the iconic Kathmandu Newa Chee'n restaurant at 72 Latrobe Terrace in Paddington. Bellydancer's BazaarBy popular demand, Bellydance Brisbane will host the inaugural
Bellydancer's Bazaar. It is being held on Saturday 16 January 2021 from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm at 10 Love Street, Spring Hill in Brisbane. Perfect place and timing to find something glamorous and shimmery to wear to and shimmy at the first (hopefully annual)

WorkshopsUnfortunately, with current covid restrictions, Amera Eid is no longer able to enter Queensland. But luckily they have Argentinian bellydancer Marina, who is the director and choreographer of Helwa Ballet School in Argentina. She is in Brisbane for a limited time! This is a unique opportunity to see this goddess of dance an international master teacher and performer of 15 years. Marina has taught regular classes and workshops in Mexico, Spain and Argentina, as well as belly dancing professionally in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Morocco and Lebanon. She is not to be missed. She will teach an Emirati Khaleegy workshop in Amera's place and will perform at both the Welcome Dinner Dance Party and The First Annual Bellydancer's Ball at Cloudland.
