Great place to unwind & hang
After months of construction, the Bellbowrie Tavern finally opened its doors on Tuesday 16 April 2013. The Bellbowrie Tavern is located adjacent the Bellbowrie shopping centre with indoor and outdoor enclosed areas for dining and play. It is a family friendly venue with Kids club, and an indoor and outdoor playground.

Being the new pub on the scene, my husband and I decided to have date night at the Bellbowrie Tavern (how romantic). We arrived at 7pm to find it extremely busy and were seated promptly. As it was the opening night, we waited about 20 minutes in the line to order and an hour for our meals to come. We didn't mind the wait so much as we caught up with each other on our daily shenanigans.

When the meals finally came, we dug in straight away. I ordered the chef's special - crispy skin snapper served on a warm capsicum kipler salad with baby English spinach drizzled with dill aioli, and my husband ordered the 300g Grazier porterhouse with caeser salad, chips and lime and chilli calamari.

My fish was nice and crispy; the warm capsicum kipler salad was yummy, though I would've liked a bit more capsicum; and the dill aioli went well with everything. My husband was happy with his meal as well. The serving sizes were quite generous and we found our tummies to be too full for desserts and coffee.

Overall our first experience at the Bellbowrie Tavern was good and it was great to see lots of locals there. Staff was friendly and we were informed that our waiting time for meals was 30-45 minutes at the time of ordering, which I liked. Our meals were about $60 total, which included the 25% off (their opening special). Furthermore, we got showbags which included vouchers that we can use on our next visits.

If you go to their website, you're bound to find what specials they offer, like the 200gm lunchtime prime rib with sauce, caesar salad and chips available every day for $12.90. Also for those who enjoy a game of pool, there are two brand new pool tables waiting for you. So, stop by the Bellbowrie Tavern for that cold drink or a nice meal.
