Some traditions are timeless, like the decorated tree during the holiday season and two-up on a cool ANZAC Day morning. The provincial Sunday drive is one such tradition. As luck would have it, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland has just what the doctor ordered.
Following the Maleny-Kenilworth Road along Tourist Route No 23 Provides smooth winding roads through a picturesque view of native flora. Wind down the windows to hear the beautiful sound of the Bell Bird with its echoing cheeps. Your filled senses will take your breath away. Luckily it can be caught about 4km's South of Kenilworth at the Hinterland's best kept secret: The Bellbird Creek Teahouse.
Nestle into nature with the perfect coffee, cup of tea or chai latte. If you have time then I reccommend staying for lunch and asking the chef for his recommendation. And if beverages and the perfect lunch aren't enough to tempt the tastebuds, the Bellbird Creek Teahouse also have a wide array of fruit and vegetables which are all grown organically and well worth a peruse.
All in all, I cannot picture a better way to spend a Sunday than a morning drive through the countryside with lunch and tea at the Bellbird Creek Teahouse. If you don't believe me, then I challenge you to try, assured that you won't be disappointed.
