If you're heading to Queenscliff for the day, or you're making a weekend out of it, make sure you include a ride on a heritage steam train as a part of your itinerary.

Steam train on the Bellarine Railway
The
Bellarine Steam Train takes passengers on a scenic 45-minute round trip along Swan Bay, from Queenscliff to Lakers Siding and back. The train is the real deal - a fully enclosed steam engine, with old-fashioned individually sectioned carriages, and windows that can be propped open to let in the breeze as you steam down the railway.

The train ride is fantastic fun for all ages. If you have littlies, the friendly staff at the ticketing booth hand over a 'spot the...' sheet for children to find and mark off landmarks and objects they spot along the way. Completed sheets can be given to staff at the end of the journey for a small prize.
The train journey includes a short stop at Lakers Siding, where passengers can wander the old platform and peek inside the station box, or watch the steam engine pull away from the carriages and circle around to take its position at the other end of the train to pull it back to Queenscliff.
The train runs on most Sundays at 11:00am, 12:00pm and 2:15pm, on public holidays, and on certain days during school holidays.
Cost is $17 adult – $15 concession – $13 Child
55 Family1 (2 ad/2 ch) – $65 Family2 (2 ad/3 ch)
Rides can be booked online or at the ticketing booth in person.
