They say golf is a good walk spoiled, but what then is mini golf?
Bellarine Adventure Golf is located in Wallington on the Bellarine Peninsula, about 20 minutes from Geelong.
Its miniature undulating greens, quaint water wheel and pretty gardens lure players in with their deceptively tranquil appearance. However, deceptively easy holes prove unnervingly difficult to master. Others just appear impossible from the get go. A trip to Bellarine Adventure Golf is sure to frustrate but also bring out your competitive spirit.
There are two courses at Bellarine Adventure Golf, The Mill and The Mountain. Both wind their way through a labyrinth of twists and turns. You can never be sure where your ball will end up.
Just like the big greens of the full sized version of the game, the courses feature water hazards, sand traps and tricky putting situations. But unlike the real thing your brightly coloured ball may be sucked up a tube, ring a bell and you will at some point have to chase it up the stairs.
Opting to play both courses offers a generous discount and chance to hone your skills.
So mini golf may not have the rigid formality and glamour of its grown up equivalent, it does still offer challenges at least as exasperating as the full form of the game. And an afternoon spent playing mini golf is definitely not an afternoon spoilt.
