When I arrived the owner was busy making a fresh new batch of delicious macadamia gelato. However, I was in need of a caffeine fix after a few hours of land-based whale and dolphin watching on the Gorge Walk, and decided to have coffee gelato in a cone - it definitely hit the spot! However, Bella Balena Gelateria does offer more conventional, barista-made coffee for those who would prefer, as well as a range of cold drinks.

Sand Art is set up as an activity for families waiting with children. There is the choice of creating a sand art picture in store for $5, or of purchasing a Sand Art Home Kit for $49.50 to take with them.

Similarly, customers can elect to purchase tubs of Bella Balena Gelateria's delicious gelato or sorbet and take it home with them. Ice creams also come in a variety of sizes and varieties from junior cones and cups to triple scoops and waffle cones.
Gelato and sorbets can be purchased in cones, cups, and even taken home in tubs
Our family's preference though is to take our ice creams across the pedestrian crossing to one of the picnic tables from where dolphins can often be seen as they surf the waves in towards Frenchman's Beach.
Additional seating is available in the beautiful parklands across the road
The easiest way to get to Bella Balena Gelateria at Point Lookout is to catch either the Stradbroke Ferries Water Taxi or the Gold Cats Flyer from Cleveland to Dunwich, both of which are synced with the timetable of the island bus that goes all the way to Point Lookout. Alternatively, you can catch the vehicle barge and drive to Point Lookout where there is parking available at Headland Park. Bella Balena Gelateria is the perfect addition to Point Lookout's easily accessed tourism hub
