Initiated by the
Belgrave Traders Association (BTA) in partnership with
3MDR 97.1FM Mountain District Radio ,
Belgrave Buskers Festival is a celebration of live music. It's a place where emerging and established artists and industry professionals can strengthen their network by interaction. This festival is coordinated by
Belgrave Community Arts Partnership and the
Belgrave Traders Association Coordinator. With support from local venues, music organisations, local artists, the BTA committee and volunteers and guidance from
Burrinja , this night of nights is happening on
Saturday the 28th February 2015 from 1pm.
As you can glean from the main poster, there's a lot on offer on the night. The buskers are taking it to the street with Groups, Duo's, Solos and Youth performing at designated places (see program above) and registered buskers across 8 more sites. Make sure you're around for the big
'play-off' at 6pm till 8pm. The Cameo Outdoor Cinema will be the venue for the play-off where winners of each category will battle it out for the title of Belgrave Buskers Festival 2015 winner.
There will be lots to see and do with kids face painting and a juggle ball making workshop (out the front of Gin Lane between 1 & 5pm), along with live street art (near the steps to Belgrave Hallam Road between 2pm to 4pm) and drumming (Blacksmiths Way). The
Belgrave Big Dreams Twilight Market is also on at the same time at the
St Thomas More's Primary School on Reynolds Lane in Belgrave.
