Held annually, the
Behind The Lines exhibition is at The National Cartoon Gallery @The Bunker in Coffs Harbour from 5 March 10am to 12 April 4pm. The exhibition celebrates the role of political cartoonists in Australia and the power and impact their drawings have in contributing to our daily political and social narrative.
2020 has been politely described as a
Dogs Breakfast by some, hence it's no surprise that the theme of the exhibition encompasses last year's mix of disruption and uncertainty. Fortunately it's not all doom and gloom and our cartoonists have also captured moments of good, and humour amid the drama.
The
National Cartoon Gallery @The Bunker in Coffs Harbour is home of the
Rotary Cartoon Awards and the only gallery of its kind; known as the spiritual home of cartooning in Australia. Amongst other exhibitions they're currently running the
Bill Leak Exhibition which will be on display
till 30 May 2021. His cartoons and caricatures cover the political and social life of Australia over the past 30 years.
