Event:
A new dramatic performance

Following the success of a recent European tour, Beethoven's Immortal Love returns to Australia with a special fundraising performance at The Women's College, University of Queensland.

Proudly presented by the Zonta Club of Brisbane on Saturday 2nd September 2017, this unique event will explore the music of one of the world's greatest composers, Ludwig van Beethoven, and in particular, 'Immortal Beloved', the mysterious love letters he wrote in 1812.

Performed by Dr Caroline Heim and Dr Christian Heim, Beethoven's Immortal Love will detail the history and legacy of Beethoven's music and letters and the stories of the women he loved.

Dr Caroline Heim holds a doctorate in Theatre and is a lecturer at Queensland University of Technology. She studied acting in New York and worked for 7 years on New York and US stages winning a Drama League Award and receiving critical acclaim from The New York Times. Caroline is also an international author and publishes books on theatre history and actors. She is currently interviewing actors and audience members worldwide for her second book on the "electric air of theatre."

Dr Christian Heim is a clinical psychiatrist and has a PhD in music. He studied composition with Peter Sculthorpe in Sydney, conducting in Vienna and composition in Paris and New York. He has held positions in several Australian universities as a lecturer in Music. As a Churchill fellow, he studied the healing uses of music in European hospitals and music from his CD Prayer Dances is played on Radio National. His original music and theatre works have been performed in Australia and New York. He is the 2014 recipient of the Newton-John award for innovation and creativity.
