Are you fascinated by bees? But perhaps also a bit wary of them? Well, you can now learn all about these fascinating and invaluable creatures in the safety of a bee keeper's suit and through knowledge passed onto you by Daniel Bee Shepherd on the
Beehive tour in Castlemaine organised by the Castlemaine Bee Sanctuary
Daniel knows all about bees, whether it's removing or re-homing swarms, the social structure of bee colonies and of course all about honey production, the benefits of honey and anything else you have wanted to know about bees but were afraid to ask.
The tour lasts 2 hours and takes place at the
Green Folly Garden Center in Castlemaine. Don't worry you will be well protected with the bee suits provided for you, just bring your own gloves and wear long trousers and closed-toe shoes.
At the end of the tour, you will be able to take home a 250g jar of local honey to sample this delicious, uncontaminated honey at home.
