Enjoy a little sea-change and head out to Rivers Garden & Home aka Rivers of Yarrambat, 28 Kurrak Rd, Yarrambat VIC 3091 (26km North-East of Melbourne CBD) for a unique experience you have to BEE there to enjoy. Grab a ticket (starting at $85 adults: ages 16 plus years) to head out to a landmark award-winning destination centre for a hands-on exploration of an active, living beehive - Beehive Tour running on Saturday 28 November and Sunday 13 December 2020.

Led by Nathan Stewart, a professional Doreen based beekeeper, you'll suit up in protective gear, light a bee smoker, and spend 2 hours as a real-life beekeeper. Get tips on what to look for inside a hive, spot the Queen and witness the birth of a new worker bee. This event will lift the lid off a busy hive, watch bees at work creating honey, get up close with more than 100,000 bees and pull out a frame of honey ready for extraction. Best part, sampling the honey direct from the hives while enjoying a refreshing honey tonic, compliments of Karan the Managing Director. Head on down, whether you're after a unique experience, considering getting into beekeeping or simply want a stingingly sweet selfie on Instagram!

Hosted by Mayaxala Honey, a local honey label from a local beekeeper based in Doreen, you can order premium Australian honey direct via their website and Facebook, or their roadside stand. Once the tour is complete, you can relax and delight your senses enjoying a food platter with a selection of locally sourced ingredients from the Rivers Cafe.
