Toe-tapping, hip-slapping fun in Beechworth
Beechworth Celtic Festival
Tartan rules at the Beechworth Celtic Festival

If you love Celtic music, then you probably shouldn't miss the Beechworth Celtic Festival. Self-nominated as the best Celtic event in Victoria, it showcases artists and bands from all over Australia, as well as workshops, markets and a street parade.

If you love the food of Celtic cultures, you will probably also want to attend a unique element of the festival - the Celtic Feast. Enjoy dishes from Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany and Wales such as haggis (of course!), cock-a-leekie soup, braised chicken leg in apple cider and mead sauce, and blairgowrie raspberry foam.

Visiting performers include Wild Women of Song, Red Cat, Claymore, Bhan Tre, Maria Forde, Bushwahzee, the Canberra Celtic Choir, Taliska, and Pat McKernan, to name a few. If you want to brush up on your own skills, there are workshops throughout the festival, including Beginner's Tin Whistle, Scottish Fiddle, and Irish Step Dancing. You can view the entire program online.
