Ever thought about becoming a vegan? I have always wondered how someone could ever be a vegan. The food would be so plain and all you would eat would be vegetables, right? I can now understand that this was an extremely naïve view to have on a subject area that I really knew nothing about.
One of my close friends is vegan and up till now I have never been that interested in finding out about her nutritional ideals. However I now realise that veganism isn't just about food, but it is a lifestyle. Before my research into veganism, I really believed that by following this particular diet, that you were completely denying yourself of one of the most pleasurable experiences in life food, as well as not getting the nutrients you need to be fit and healthy. But another way to look at it is that you are learning to push the boundaries with the ingredients you have. Many people say they feel healthier and lighter when being vegan and that it can lift you mood.
My friend asked me to just try veganism for a week and see how I felt. To my surprise I did feel a lot healthier, fitter and full of life. I now include many vegan meals within my diet.
