Ekka throws open its doors tomorrow for the first time in two years. I was there yesterday and there was so much going on; plants being moved, vegetables being put in place, stalls being set up and hundreds of provisions being organised and animals being looked after. It is an enormous exercise and one that has been happening for years and years with the exception of the pandemic years. Ekka relies on hundreds of volunteers who each year step in and help the many arms of the Ekka show.

As Gillian Ching has written for Weekend Notes, there is so much that happens at EKKA.

This is a call for volunteers for all sections but particularly the garden and flower department. The show depends on people coming forward and offering their time. It does not have to be extensive or daily. The work is always a pleasure and always fun. I have spent years volunteering at Ekka and it is one of the highlights of my year. So if you have some hours, please consider offering some hours to help out there.
