Life's Little Treasures Foundation is Australia's foremost charity dedicated to providing support specifically tailored for families of premature or sick babies. Part of their support includes handing out a Little Bag of Calm to those in need and as a reminder to parents that they are not alone in their journey and that they as a foundation are there to help and support. These little bags of calm include little hand-sewn felt hearts that are lovingly made by their Handmade Heroes community.

They need your help, so if you have some time and would like a little mindful activity to do at home, please consider making a few hearts for families. The pattern can be found HERE which can be DOWNLOADED . They are pocket size and made to be carried on the person, in their bag or pocket, like a heart of hope and support. Please note 100% wool felt is the material required as it's eco-friendly, durable and kind to people and our planet. Once completed, please send your hearts to Life's Little Treasures Foundation 's Head Office in Ringwood (1/21 Eugene Terrace, Ringwood - 1300 697 736), where they will collate it and send it out in their family packs. If you prefer, you can also order a STARTER PACK on Etsy from 1000 Hearts Australia for $28 and $2.20 delivery. The kit contains 40 pre-cut felt hearts (makes 20 hearts; two pieces of felt per heart) and enough thread to make your hearts. You'll also get instructions and a template. Please note that stuffing is not provided. The Etsy store also has supplies of 100 and 50 packs of pre-cut hearts for $28 and $14 respectively.

1000 Hearts was founded in 2016 by Sarah De Jong and is a global kindness project, sharing love through handmade hearts. They believe in inclusivity and anyone can be a part of their kindness community. If you're helping out by making hearts, they'd love you to tag them in your social media posts.
