'Beauty in Pieces' visually explores the meaning of personal beauty in our lives today and the beliefs we have carried growing up be it ideals of body type, hair, skin or attitude. What does beauty mean to us?
Artist in residence Suhasini Seelin and collaborator Persia Martel-Cruz interviewed people of diverse upbringings and life experiences on their notions of beauty, and discovered multiple meanings.
The exhibit includes metaphoric references like pottery, the Japanese kintsugi method of joining broken pieces, portraits and film.
The artists invite you to reflect on what this evokes in you and leave behind your own thoughts to enrich the exhibit.
