Beaumont House, 631 Glynburn Road, Beaumont, Open Day Tours are on the first Sunday of each month (except January) from 2 pm to 4.30 pm, and at other times by arrangement.

Enjoy a special tour of the house and garden followed by refreshments on the veranda, overlooking the garden, city and gulf (weather permitting). Wander through beautiful gardens and the olive grove.

Beaumont House was called Claremont Cottage before, built in 1849 by Augustus Short, the first Anglican Bishop of Adelaide and his wife Millicent Phillips. Purchased by Sir Samuel Davenport and his wife Margaret Cleland in 1857; a politician, horticulturist, and pioneer of SA 2019s olive oil, wine, silk, and perfume industries. In 1907 purchased by Major William Vincent and his wife Alice Buzzard, and in 1911 by lawyer Richard Bennett and his bohemian wife Lillian Brocksopp. He died in 1929 and she married Kenneth Brock in 1936. Property bequeathed to the National Trust of South Australia in 1970.

Please pay on the day at the door (cash or card accepted), $15 for adults, $12 for concession/pensioners, $10 for children under 16, and $10 for National Trust Members. Open Day Tour tickets will include an afternoon tea.
