The Beaumaris North Primary School Fete is not your average school fete. There'll be all the usual fun of the fair but you'll also have the chance to get up and GO with your kids, family and friends and have one big, funtastic, sportastic day out on Saturday 29th March.
The day begins with all the family-friendly fun and action of the Get Up and Go Fun Run, a 3km run (or walk) open to all local primary school children, their families and the Bayside community. The race begins at 9am at Wood St, Beaumaris. All runners will receive an official race bib, runner's number and official time report. You can pre-register for the run online here. Alternatively, you can register on the morning of the run from 8.30 am for a gold coin donation. This is your chance to be a sport and show your support.
After the run you can partake of all there is to offer including wild rides, awesome music, quality stalls and great food. This year the delights of Side Show Alley include the Asteroid Blaster, Lob-a-Choc, Teddy Tombola and Bust-a-Balloon. Get ready for activities such as face painting, henna tattoos, a handball competition, sand art and a netball shoot-out.
All your food and drink favourites will be there including cupcakes, Devonshire teas, barbequed sausages, sushi, snow cones and fairy floss. At the more than 80 marketplace stalls you'll find second-hand goods, CDs, plants and books. The highlight will be the I Made It stall with over 400 quality items by some of the school's very talented mums.
But the rides are what all the kids want to know about and there's a super-medley of them, from chair-o-plane for the little ones to nail biting whizzy ones, like the amazing Sizzler, for the big kids. You can purchase your early-bird ride wrist bands online here until 28th March for the discount price of $30. They will be available on the day for $40.
You'll also have the chance to meet and greet AFL legend, Cameron Bruce, former Melbourne and Hawthorn player and now Hawthorn assistant coach. Cameron will be at the 13CABS Marquee from 11am to 12noon for photos, jumper and ball signings, or simply a chat about the upcoming season.
And if all of that isn't enough you might also get lucky at the range of auctions, raffles, treasure chests and lucky wheels. Come and support this year's theme of health and well-being and have a great family day out.
