Beaufort Street Mt Lawley has long been one of my favourite hang outs and now I have another reason to head down there (as if I needed one).
The Beaufort Street Art Market is held on the first Sunday of every month in the Barlee Street carpark. It's the perfect spot, behind that awesome big concrete 'Beaufort Street' sculpture recently erected and painted all fun and such.
From 9am to 1pm arty folk can browse the wares of local artists, designers and craft artisans in a variety of stalls.
Along the back of the market are little mini 'suitcase stalls' which were alot of fun. It's here that I met Little Sketchy and I loved her custom cards and artwork. I managed to pick up a couple of uber cute Christmas cards from her.
Loved the watermelon theme running through Little Sketchy's Christmas cards.
It was The Little Press by Emily Shingleton that really got my attention though. Her designs were so intricate and detailed and the bright pops of colour were completely striking. As well as the artwork on display, The Little Press also designs wedding stationary - now there's an idea for anyone with nuptials on the horizon.
For such a small space, there's just so much to see at the Beaufort Street Art Market. From breathtaking sculptures to free form paintings, jewellery and map covered notebooks! There's an arty something for the little kids, big kids and adults alike.
The next Beaufort Street Art Market will take place on Sunday 2 November and you can be sure the artists will be gearing up for Christmas so why not drop in for some unique local artisan gifts for your loved ones. I know I certainly will!
