Beau Kitchen and Cellar, together with Rack and Ruin has some exciting events coming up in the next few weeks. The restaurant which has now been open for a couple of years and continues to delight its customers, is housed in the new development of the old Beaumaris Pub and specialises in fresh, innovative cooking, boutique wines and sits right opposite the beach.
With Rack and Ruin, the boutique wine shop next door and under the capable management of Cam, the sommelier and knowledge master of all things wine, events organised by these two entities are always a treat.
For the month of February and March, here are three events worth considering
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of Australia's finest wine wholesales and Importers, Cellarhand, this event will be one of the finest wine tastings yet and give you a little snapshot of this spectacular portfolio.
Cedar smoked blue eye, dried tomato and black olive
All beef sourced from Paul Ikin of Protein Australia in Moorabbin. The dry aged beef comes from Grass Fed Black Angus cattle, from only three farms in the Goulburn Valley amongst the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria.
Steak tartare, Barossa bark, smoked oyster mayo
HIGHLIGHT ALL MEAT TO BE SERVED Medium Rare
Seared flat iron steak, chimichurri
Hanger steak, beef marrow, pancetta and cornichons
Potato gratin and seasonal greens served to share on the table
There will also be some vacuum packed steaks for purchase and take home.
This is free tasting event and will run until the wine is poured.
A great time to try some pinot noir as the temperatures turn to the colder months. This will be another masterful line up of pinot on display, all served from the trusty brown paper bag and making your taste buds work harder.
This is a great way to test your taste buds and form your own judgments, label bias aside. The final list of wines is yet to be determined but three, maybe four countries (France, Australia, New Zealand, maybe USA) will be represented and the wines, particularly from Australia, will highlight the release of the spectacular growing season that was 2017!
