I'm an aspiring writer living in Perth. I like to take the scenic route and take pleasure in the simple things in life, such as good food and good company.

Beautiful is mine
I first discovered the works of French artist Magali Dincher a few years ago when I stumbled upon her studio gallery in Fremantle. I remember being smitten with her intricate and endearing prints depicting townscapes of Perth and Paris. I walked away inspired, not only by her works but also by her story. After working as a town planner in France for twenty five years, Magali moved to Perth in pursuit of more creative endeavors and created Beau est Mien Studio in 2008.
Two years later I found myself back in her studio gallery, but this time at a new location on William Street, Northbridge. From humble beginnings in her small studio gallery in Fremantle, I was delighted to see how big Beau Est Mien has become. The downstairs shop area is a cheerful area where Magali displays her artwork and other knick knacks by talented artists and designers from all over the globe, including stationary, jewelry and home-wares.
One could easily spend hours perusing the shop and admiring Magali's quirky prints, which are all hand made and hand coloured, using traditional printmaking techniques. Magali's designs are also featured on greeting cards, hand printed wrapping paper and colouring books. My companion on this particular visit to the studio even commented that Magali's greeting cards were the most beautiful they had seen, and I can attest to that.
Beau Est Mien is definitely worth a visit if you are after a unique gift or are keen to partake in one of the creative workshops. The shop/studio is such an uplifting and inspiring space. I have no doubts that Beau Est Mien can only keep growing from here.
