It's cool to smile at The Beatt Cafe Armadale

There are so many cafes in Melbourne, so how do you choose which one to visit? It's easy to fall into a rut. It takes energy and uncertainty to go someplace new. The place you know becomes the only option you see.

One way of breaking this pattern is taking a train ride. Cafes near the train line have a heap going for them. A new place doesn't feel quite so intimidating if you find a cosy place to sit in proximity to a reassuring ride home.

on the journey's way

The other day, I came across a paradise that effectively ticked this criteria, whilst offering loads more. I petered off the course of my usual train ride to Malvern. A beautiful day I thought I'd explore Rose St, Toorak. This gorgeous strip of shops not far from High St Armadale has a quaintness and class that is cemented by the artistic and chic shops nestled into classic architecture.

Understated charm

There used to be a lovely French cafe here called Rouge. I had noted this had vanished on a previous meander. I often wondered if there were other shops here I had not tried. Shops I might notice now Rouge was no longer monopolising my attention.

Named after the Beatty Avenue, it is nestled along The Beatt cafe has a beachside ambience. On the ideal spring day, I visited it was shimmering in all its glory. The windows were out and the breeze was brushing through a room plumped with embroidered cushions. There was a sense of palm cove and a health focus.

Health and Wellbeing passion

I have since learned yoga and wellbeing services are also on offer alongside healthy cuisine. At the time, I was Impressed and in the mood for the fresh creativity of their menu. There was skin detox tea I was tempted to try and smoothies containing collagen. Obviously, the tone was set on youth and glow.

Being in a cautious mood, I settled on my usual long black. As I sipped it, I pondered how evenly this place balanced the atmosphere of a health resort without denying me caffeine.

Getting my normal order left me inspired to return another day I was feeling more adventurous. A beetroot turmeric latte looked an attractive option I'm curious to explore.

Positive regard

It was quiet the day of my visit and there was a sense of breath flowing through. I was left in peace. The spoon of my coffee cup even offered me well-being, encouraging me to smile because it was cool. I certainly left calm and rested.

The great part about the Beatt Cafe is the sense of space carried by the architectural design. Other customers had a regular feel in their familiarity. I overheard many complimentary comments about the food and drink.

Convenient retreat from the crowd

The art on the wall and the rustic menu, all carry their obvious values of health and well being. Visiting their website, you can find healthy recipes to make at home and book yoga appointments. They don't just offer well being there, they send it home with you.

Take the Frankston line to Toorak. It is to your left up Beatty Avenue, before you reach Mammoth. Coming here it the definition of chilling out.
