Beat the Drum: Celebrating 40 Years of Triple J

Did you know Triple J is turning 40 in January of 2015? Well the landmark hasn't escaped the station's notice and it has decided to hold a concert featuring its favourite artists in celebration. The one-off event will take place in The Domain on Friday January 16.

Artists featured on the line-up include the Hilltop Hoods , The Presets , The Cat Empire , You Am I , Vance Joy , Ball Park Music , The Preatures and Tkay Maidza . There will also be DJ sets from Nina Las Vegas and KLP . A long list of special guests includes Bernard Fanning , Daniel Jhns, Illy and Megan Washington .

Wally De Backer/Gotye has also be confirmed as a performer. He says "It's going to be a huge day. It's exciting for me because I haven't played any Gotye stuff for a year and a half now. (I will) do a couple of songs though I'm hoping to a special little original piece that ties into the sound history of triple j… there's materials being passed back and forth. I'm going to have a sort of sample-based set-up, my five-piece band up there… all mashing pads and keys and playing sample instruments."
