Beasleys Teahouse in East Doncaster is a popular spot to drop in for a coffee, lunch, scones or shop for some plants! This is one of my favourite local destinations when out bike riding on the Main Yarra Trail towards Warrandyte or the Mullum Mullum trail to Currawong Bush park.
Having locked up my bike (on the provided bike rack) and stopped for lunch, I wanted something light at the cafe so ordered the Bruschetta minus the prosciutto, (as I've cut out eating red meat!) The staff where helpful and accommodating with my dietary requirements. As the weather was nice I opted for sitting outside taking in the lovely surroundings. There is a great choice of food on the lunch menu! Or if you are an early riser then the Beasley's Big Breakfast with two eggs, bacon, black pudding, spinach, semi dried tomato, mushrooms & beans will keep you going for the rest of the day! See their Breakfast menu here.
After lunch took a stroll through the beautiful surrounding Nursery, looking for small indoor plants and succulents.
The award winning retail nursery was established in 1976 by Ron and Merle Beasley and their two sons, Bill and Neil. It was primarily a fern nursery.
