The Bean Project is a takeaway cafe (vendor?) open Monday to Friday. It's situated just inside Building 80 (the new Swanston Academic Building) of RMIT University on Swanston Street. It's not far from Melbourne Central and there's a new tram stop right out the front.

You can't miss the building. It looks like:

Heaps of savoury options and sweet treats are on offer at The Bean Project, including bagels, wraps, pre-made sandwiches and focaccias, biscuits, cakes and muffins.

I had a skinny cappuccino and a toasted cheese and tomato croissant for $6–$7 (they had a deal running). It's sometimes hard to find a croissant without ham in it, so props to these guys.

The coffee was nice enough but what I liked the most was just that the lid actually fit the cup perfectly.
