Bean and Gone Espresso Bar is a new and very welcome addition to The Gap's coffee scene and is well worth a visit. Melbourne-like in its appearance, it is bright and colourful and has certainly transformed this spot on the corner of Waterworks Road and Illowra Street. Bean and Gone is impossible to miss, largely due to the amazing graffiti mural by Travis Vinson (Drapl) of Graffiti Murals.

Located next door to the Friendly Grocer and with a car park right on the doorstep, dropping in for a coffee or a bite to eat is quick and easy. Piazza Doro coffee is served here and you'll also find a range of cakes, slices, tarts and savoury muffins with gluten free options available. Owner (Ben Waugh) said, "We have bagels, frittata and focaccia coming soon, along with other lunch options."

Perch on a stool at the breakfast bar with your first coffee of the day and perhaps a savoury muffin

Seating choices include an undercover area or outside on the timber deck - at tables and chairs or at the "breakfast bar" with that amazing graffiti art as a backdrop.

Beginning this week, Bean and Gone will be staying open later on Fridays to run Coffee and Cake afternoons for all those deserving school Mums in the area. Cheese platters will be added to the Friday afternoon options shortly.

Other future plans include serving breakfasts which Ben hopes to have happening in 2-3 months time. A kids' area is also planned, to keep the littlies happy whilst Mums enjoy a break.

Why not check out this very cool new business and enjoy a coffee either before or after The Gap Farmers' Market, held every second Sunday just across the road on The Gap State School oval.

Chocoholics will love the hot chocolate and this triple choc muffin

If you're feeling like a change from coffee, word's out that the hot chocolate at Bean and Gone is decadently delicious. Made with real chocolate and topped with marshmallows, how could you go wrong? It's the perfect treat, especially enjoyed with one of the tempting options from the cake cabinet!
