All the shopping & cafes you love in great style
If your distant memories of Kuta are that of a crazy beach filled with beach vendors and people offering you things which they probably shouldn't be offering you, followed by crazy dusty markets where almost anything goes, you may be surprised to find that a new type of shopping experience has emerged.

Whilst the beach certainly still exists, along with its myriad of beach sellers, masseurs and ladies offering you finger nail painting and hair braiding - there is a new side to the Kuta beachwalk, set in an elegant new shopping centre.

Located next door to the Sheraton hotel, you will find the Beachwalk Shopping Centre. It is a rather upmarket affair filled with designer shops and probably not everybody's cup of tea. However it is certainly a lovely respite from the heat and a great place to refresh your wardrobe at pretty good prices.

On the third floor, there is a Singapore style hawkers food centre with some unique dishes for you to taste.

Prices are actually pretty reasonable for this area and on the opposite side again on the third floor is a wonderful restaurant with beautiful views right over the entire beach, complete with relaxing daybeds to while away the hours with a beautiful sunset and without the craziness that may accompany the beachside.

There is a game zone centre for the children and plenty of shops to keep you entertained as well as being filled with great cafes and restaurants. In the basement is an excellent gourmet food supermarket, which also has a range of fun souvenirs for you to take home at pretty good prices.

If you want to drive here, there is also a basement carpark. I did not try it so I'm not sure of the prices but generally most places for public parking are around 2000 rupiahs or 20 cents per hour.

Have you been to this great shopping centre? Love it or hate it, it is certainly a refreshing change. Let us know what you think by adding your notes in the comments section on this article. We would love to hear from you.
