If you see the Ocean Events part of the Championships at Christies Beach you are in for an extra treat, the inaugural Beachside Food and Wine Festival. After watching competitors battle though the waves you are bound to have worked up quite an appetite, and will be more than ready to sample the delightful regional produce from down South.
The Food and Wine Festival will be held over the weekend of November 17-18, with more than 40 stalls to tempt your tastebuds while you enjoy live music. Local produce, food, and wines will be in plentiful supply, and children will be catered for with a Ferris wheel, sand sculptures and other amusements.
Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place so it's best to walk or catch public transport to the event, or use the free shuttle bus which will be available.
If you go to the Festival on Saturday November 17, be sure to visit the Original Open Market which is one of the most popular markets in SA. It's having its 30th birthday celebrations, making it a must-see while you are in Christies Beach.
