A beach for every occasion
At last, summer has arrived! My advice - embrace the rising temperatures and cool down with some good old surf, sun and sand action. Lucky for us we have some of the country's most beautiful beaches in our backyard and there's no time like summer to explore the beautiful coastline. Just an hour south of Brisbane is the sunny Gold Coast, boasting over 20 patrolled beaches spanning over 57km. The beaches are famous for the perfect swimming and surfing conditions as well as the world class dining, shopping and entertainment choices on offer.

Each beach has its own unique character and it can sometimes be hard to pick a favourite. Truth is, the Gold Coast has a beach for every occasion and it's just a matter of deciding what you're in the mood for. Here's a list of four popular Gold Coast beaches for you to explore this summer.

Surfers Paradise - The Party Beach

Located in the heart of the Gold Coast and stretching over 3km, the world famous Surfers Paradise beach is the most iconic of the Gold Coast beaches. Home base for the popular Schoolies week, Surfers Paradise sure knows how to host a party. For the true Gold Coast experience soak up the vibrant beach atmosphere and make the most of the great swimming and surfing conditions. If you can tear yourself away from the beach head to Cavill Avenue and explore the endless high rises, night clubs, restaurants, cafes and shopping outlets. When it comes to getting you pumped for a good time, Surfers Paradise certainly delivers. Find out more about things to do in Surfers Paradise here.

Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach - The Trendy Beach

Picturesque Kurrawa Beach

For a more chic experience, visit trendy Broadbeach - home to Kurrawa Beach - a beautiful white stretch of sand with ideal swimming conditions. Part of the appeal at Broadbeach is Kurrawa Park - a beautiful parkland where you can enjoy a picnic, barbeque or scenic stroll any time of the day. If you happen to visit on the first or third Sunday of each month you will be treated to the popular Broadbeach Art and Craft Market.

As well as the picturesque beach, Broadbeach boasts many quality restaurant and cafes. You will be spoilt for choice with the diverse flavours on offer. Coolangatta - The Relaxed Beach

For a relaxed and laid-back beach experience explore Coolangatta and it's neighbouring beaches, Kirra and Greenmount. Removed from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast, here you can soak up the sun and appreciate the natural beauty of your surroundings. The white sandy beaches are not over crowded, providing a peaceful atmosphere for your relaxing beach escape. Unwind and enjoy some quality time on your own or with your partner.

Kurrawa beach looks divine especially as I'm in Scotland at the moment and it's snowing. I'm hoping to be back out to Australia next year to see my sister so it was great to read your article
