I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
Enjoy rooftop projections of the series from Pyrmont Bridge
For those unfamiliar with the animated comedy series Beached Az, the show is based on a whale that is stuck on a New Zealand beach. While beached and struggling to get back into the ocean, it meets a range of sea creatures and discusses their various problems and ambitions.
If you've never seen the show before and want to check it out, or if you're already an avid fan, this free event may be perfect for you. At the Beached As Film Festival, all 21 episodes of the series will be projected onto the rooftop of the Australian Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour.
The event will take place on Saturday April 26, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. During this time, episodes will run in a loop, with each loop around an hour long, and to get the best view you'll need to get up on the Pyrmont Bridge.
Don't understand what the comedy series has to do with the Maritime Museum? Well, right now at the museum it's 'Whale Season', meaning there's a program of exhibitions and events all about whales taking place. For example, there's the 'Beautiful Whales' photography exhibition, the 'Amazing whales - Evolution and Survival' exhibition and a variety of school holidays activities. In keeping with the theme, the museum has joined with the Sydney Comedy Festival, also on now, to add this film festival to its list of whale events.
