The Beach Club also known as the Collaroy Services Beach Club is one of the Northern Beaches best kept secrets. Situated at 1058 Pittwater Road, Collaroy, The Beach Club is often overlooked due to its small street entrance and Club persona. Well known and frequented by the locals it has gained a reputation as a hidden gem on the Northern Beaches. The sensational panoramic views and casual welcoming atmosphere make it a landmark venue hard to forget. After your first visit it will no doubt become a regular option on your list of places to go.
The upper level Horizon Bar and Beach Grill Restaurant is very popular, especially the balcony area which wraps around the beachfront side of the building. There are not many bars in Sydney that I can think of that are located right over the sand with stunning uninterrupted views of the beach and ocean.
Even though this club has aged with time the view and the casual atmosphere is loved by locals and visitors alike. It is one of my favourite places to go for lunch or a quiet drink close to home. I stopped in recently for lunch and as it was a hot sunny day I chose to sit out on the balcony. The view was as sensational as ever so I decided to take a short video of the view to give readers some idea.
The Beach Grill restaurant does all the catering and has a varied menu inspired by the seaside location. Lots of seafood options and the usual favourites of Burgers, Steaks and Bar snacks feature here. I love that you can have a hot or cold Seafood platter for one at $48 or for two people at $120. I decided on the special of the day, marinated grilled Octopus on a greek salad at $19.00 washed down with a nicely chilled New Zealand Pinot Gris.
My lunch was delicious and I stayed and enjoyed the view for a couple of hours. Even though on a hot day you can be assured of a lovely ocean breeze to cool off, there is always the option of sitting inside the Horizon Lounge bar and enjoying the air conditioned comfort. Even in winter or on a cold rainy day, you can sit inside and watch the beautiful ocean seascape.

The Beach Grill restaurant also has prime ocean viewing tables which can get very busy, but nobody seems to mind as you can easily buy a drink in the Horizon bar and enjoy the view while you wait. The restaurant offers a Monday to Wednesday special of two meals for the price of one. You will need a voucher which you can receive from previously dining on other days of the week.
The popular Horizon Lounge can be booked out for private functions or just enjoyed on a regular trading day. On Friday, Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons they have live entertainment from soloists to 5 piece bands, so you can try out your dance moves.
Live Music at The Beach Club
I tend to drop by the club once or twice a week as it is only ten minutes from my home. A perfect location to recharge after a busy day.

Recently I went for dinner with a friend and I chose the Beach Grill Burger $17.00 and my friend chose the entree size Garlic Prawns & Sourdough $17.50. The Burger was nice and juicy and the bacon crispy, just how I like it. My friend said the Garlic Prawns were delicious and wished she had more bread to soak up the sauce. I'm sure they would of provided more if asked. It is also worth becoming a member for only $10 annually. Members receive a discount on drinks making for a more affordable visit. The wines vary in price from as little as $5 a glass. Keep in mind they have Happy Hour Monday to Friday 3.45pm - 5.45pm and $7 Cocktail Hour Wednesday to Friday 6pm - 9pm.
