The
Beach Burrito Company is a little piece of Mexico in Newcastle. Founded in Bondi in 2006 the chain has 13 stores Australia wide and the Newcastle store is the latest to open. They have served a constant stream of happy diners since setting up on Darby Street.
The
menu is versatile with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The standard burrito can be served as a bowl or a fajita for a small added cost. The tiki prawn edible burrito bowl was delicious with sweet prawns, rice, corn salsa and mango jalapeƱo salsa. If you want a touch more heat choose from the hot sauces on the table.
Sangria is served in a used tequila bottle for $25 as a novelty jug. They are fully licensed and serve a range of alcohol and specialise in frozen margaritas. Weekday nights happy hours at 4pm-6.30pm mean $5 pints and $6 frozen margaritas and Wednesdays are happy hour prices all day with free meals for kids.
There are plenty of other great
specials of the day like $3 tacos on Tuesdays. There is plenty of room inside but there are also two outside dining areas. The back garden has a play area for children and a great relaxed vibe.
Beach Burrito Company caters for functions and offers a takeaway service. One orders and pays at the counter and the food is quickly brought to you by friendly waitstaff. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates on special events.
