Behold, its Be Bold
When you are down Sandgate/Shorncliffe way on the north side of Brisbane, exploring Cabbage Tree Creek, the beaches, the history and shops of the area, there's a great café/coffee shop to visit. It's called Be Bold 131, at 131 Rainbow St. It's right opposite the Sandgate Museum so you can pack in a great day trip and lunch or coffee and cake as well. They also feature "Organic Coffee, with Direct Trade agreement with local farmers all the way from Tanna Island."
Under the Red Umbrellas
One of the great things about Be Bold is the way they work with the outdoors. Of course, you can sit outside in front of the café, but there's a delightful spot inside, that is open to fresh air.
The quirky décor is well worth checking out too, with a range of seating to satisfy.
The coffee is great, and the food – well, don't take my word for it. Go along and enjoy it yourself.
The Pancakes are very popular at Be Bold, and are really yummy. There's a wide range. I had a wonderful coffee (see photo), and an awesome pancake with a grand helping of fresh fruit.
It is open 7 days a week from 5 am to 3 pm so perhaps it's a good spot to start your exploring with breakfast too.
Children are welcome and the cafe has easy access for folk who have mobility challenges. If you are on your own, the daily paper is there, and magazines to read.
It's only a short walk from the Sandgate Train station so it's easy to use public transport to get there, though there is street parking available.
Are smoothies your thing? A great range of popular smoothies are available, plus pancakes and more. Gluten free and vegan items are also on the menu.
