Are you stuck for something fun to do for the G20 weekend which doesn't involve heading into a heavily guarded and ghost town CBD? Well luckily for Brisbane residents, there are some fabulous activities happening around the outer suburbs on the weekend of 15-16th November so you can get out of the house, bring the kids and have a great day or evening out.

Chermside Fri 14th Nov, 2 - 6pm

This is the official G20 Public Holiday so you can kick back for an afternoon of free entertainment including cricket matches, cultural games and music. There will be some delicious treats from the pop-up café and lots of fun and games for the whole family. With craft workshops, giant games and an obstacle course, you'll be set to send the kids off for the afternoon while you sit and enjoy the atmosphere.



The Gap Sat 15th Nov & Sun 16th Nov, 2 - 6pm

Enjoy a Brisbane suburban nature reserve while you eat, drink and be merry. With artists such as Brass Roots, Still Standing and The Establishment, you will also be able to take part in an interactive African Drumming session and shop at a Suitcase Rummage market.

Sandgate Sat 15th Nov, 4 - 8pm

Head out to Sandgate at Einbunpin Lagoon for a silent disco with DJ Bacon and to watch the stilt walkers make their way through the markets by BrisStyle Inc. There will be a BBQ and licensed bar for those who want to grab dinner while at the event plus there's some fabulous Art installations by local residents to view in and around the venue.



Seventeen Mile Rocks Sun 16th Nov, 9am - 1pm

This beautiful Sunday morning brunch by the river will be dazzled by free circus workshops, kite making, cubby building and live performances throughout the day as well as exploring the beautiful park. Community garden presentations, bike workshops and market will keep the adults busy and engaged. BBQ and other food and drink will be available or bring your own picnic to this alcohol-free event. Lots of great stalls from BrisStyle Inc. will help you get your Christmas shopping done early!



Wynnum Sun 16th Nov, 4 - 8pm

Gather at the Wynnum Wading Pool and soak in the seaside vista of this lovely Bayside suburb. There will be gourmet food, drinks and seating areas for your to lounge around or you can walk to art installations situated along the coast. The kids will be delighted by the Giant Games they can play and adults will be happy to browse the vintage markets.

There's something for each side of the city this G20 long weekend so make sure you pack your sunscreen and head off to enjoy the festivities!
