Barbecues with the family are a great way to spend quality time. There is nothing better than having a BBQ while the kids play on the playground, and watching the sun go down. Perth is one of the best locations for its amazing beaches with a range of barbecues to choose from.

The barbecues at the beaches are supplied with gas for free. To operate you would need to press a button, however each BBQ has a set of instruction you can follow. They are time operated, so you may have to press the button a few times while cooking. The council sends someone to clean the barbecues once a week, and to ensure that everything is working. But, I have to say, it would be advisable to take a wire brush with you if you are planning a BBQ over the weekend. That is because barbecues are used mostly during this time.

Some barbecue areas are more popular than others, and below is a list of barbecues by the beach which you can choose from for this type of experience. All of them have working barbecues, tables, bins, and toilets.

Hillarys Boat Harbor

Hillary's Boat Harbor have about six barbecues to choose from with covered tables. Toilets require a little walk, but after a good meal a walk is what you would need! The swimming area is great for kids of all ages and there is a covered playground by the toilets area. This area is excellent for windy days as it is very sheltered.

Brighton beach

Brighton Beach is a stone's throw away from the ocean. It has a large covered playground area with a nice walkway for kids to ride on. These paths lead to all of the barbecue areas. You will find taps, drinking fountains and bins in close proximity. Toilets can be found on the beach side.

Scarborough

Barbecues by Scarborough Beach can be found by the Wild Fig Cafe. This area is one of my favourites, mostly because it has one of the best views. Toilets are nearby and kids can enjoy a good run down towards a playground. There are two BBQ s and two benches.

Sorrento

I enjoy going to Sorrento when all other barbecues are busy. There is about three barbecues well spaced out from each other which you can choose from. There are bins close by, and the barbecues are the cleanest out of all the barbecues I have used.

Quinns Rock

This is a lovely location with two barbecues, and two seated bench-type tables. There was no playground that we could see, but there is large grass area. The beach is just a short walk down a pathway and there has strong lights above the barbecues and tables, just in case you choose to barbecue at sunset. I found that the best time to barbecue here is at Sunset.

It would be a good idea to take a few things with you such as tongs, a steel type egg lifter, plates, serviettes, etc. However, we have taken sausages, onion, bread and tomato sauce which only require tongs and serviettes. Hopefully your next adventure will be one with the family by the beach.
