Bazu offers some of Adelaies's top quality Chinese cuisine
The Bazu is a Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Adelaide, specializing in Chinese cuisine the Bazu offers an extensive range of common foreign foods and a huge range of lesser known delicacies. Our group of four found our way to the Bazu in need of a delicious Chinese banquet, providing outside dining to patrons this place was able to catch our eye.

Showcasing some gorgeous photos of the food on offer on their window, we had no choice but to visit and enjoy an excellent meal. I am happy to inform you that this place was more than happy to satisfy our desires.

Before the Feast

The Bazu is equipped with an extremely large dining area; I think hosting your next business luncheon here would be a great idea. Without prior booking we were able to land a table right next to one of their many televisions, providing customers with some entertainment while they wait to be wined and dined.

Bookings can be made prior over the phone, if need be. The staff is really energetic and friendly; they all seem to share a close connection as many would help each other out with customers. They always seemed to have a big smile on their face and you could tell they enjoyed their job; this made the experience more enjoyable. Though be prepared to have multiple members of the staff try and up sell some extra dessert, which may be annoying to some patrons looking for a quiet meal, but doesn't take away from the experience.

As explained earlier the menu is loaded with an extensive range of Chinese food, personally being hesitant to try any of the more exotic dishes, I choose the Sweet and Sour Pork, with a side of fried rice and an entrée of spring rolls. The spring rolls arrived first, with a unique style of spring roll sheets giving it a Scotch Finger like taste.

This actually worked very well with the sweet chili sauce, giving it one of the most unique flavoured spring rolls I have ever tasted. The Sweet and Sour Pork deliver a huge serving of pork, onion and garnished with some grated vegetables. The pork was very succulent and tender, plus with the sweet and sour sauce tasted superb. This combination works well as usual, but with such tender pork pieces it made this dish a pleasure to eat.

Sweet and Sour Pork

The serving size of my main dish, entrée and rice was bigger than I could handle, but Bazu didn't mind as they offer plastic containers to patrons who want to take the rest of their meal home. I personally found this to be a very pleasant feature, eating the rest of my meal for dinner made me feel like the money was well spent and I got exactly what I paid for. Not only that but what I paid for was a very reasonable price, for my entire meal and drinks it only set me back $35. However the fact you are not provided any complimentary rice with your meal was odd, in comparison to most Chinese restaurants, at the price though it wasn't much of an issue.

My Friends Meal

Bazu is a delightful experience, from the joyful staff members, great atmosphere and excellent food on offer. Your taste buds will be left in ecstasy, and your wallet only dealing with a small bill to contend with. You will also be extremely happy at the thought of eating the rest of your scrumptious meal later on that evening with the take home policy. Bazu is a fine establishment and is highly recommended to any lover of Chinese cuisine.
