Bayside Library Service are holding their annual on Sunday 27 May 2018.

This free festival, held in conjunction with Highett Neighbourhood Community House, invites readers and writers to come together for a day of discussions, workshops and presentations.



There will be a range of authors and guest speakers, including local authors who will be showcasing their works and whose books will be available to purchase on the day.

Guest speakers will include the following and the full programme is available here:

Catherine Deveny
Writer, comedian, author, social commentator and speaker well known for her work as a columnist with The Age newspaper, as well as a Melbourne International Comedy Festival favourite and as an ABC regular.



Sian Prior
Presenter on ABC Radio National, ABC Classic FM and ABC Melbourne, Sian has written regularly for Fairfax Media and in May 2014 launched her first book, 'Shy: a memoir', published by Text Publishing.

Adam Wallace
Adam Wallace, athlete, adventurer, astronaut, Abdominal Snowman, ape, author is a hilarious New York Times best-selling children's author and illustrator.

A. S. Patric
A bookseller and teacher of creative writing A.S Patric is the author of two short story collections, Las Vegas for Vegans and The Rattler & other stories, and a novella called Bruno Kramzer.

Anna George
Anna George has worked in the legal world as well as the film and television industries. Her first novel, What Came Before, was shortlisted for the 2015 Ned Kelly and Sisters in Crime Best Debut Fiction awards.

Sally Hepworth
Sally Hepworth is the bestselling author of The Secrets of Midwives (2015), The Things We Keep (2016) and The Mother's Promise (2017), and The Family Next Door (Feb 2018). Sally's books have been labelled "enchanting" by The Herald Sun, "smart and engaging" by Publisher's Weekly, and New York Times bestselling authors Liane Moriarty and Emily Giffin have praised Sally's novels as "women's fiction at its finest" and "totally absorbing".

Kieran Carroll
Twenty-one plays have been produced by Kieran Carroll in Australia, America and England since 2002, winning awards including the Grace Marion Playwrights Fellowship in 2013.

The festival will run between 10am and 5pm and is a free event with no booking required. So if you love reading and listening to others talking about writing, don't miss this event.
