Queensland Services Heritage Band is the host and Saturday, December 16 is the date to make your way to George Clayton 'Lighthouse' Park with picnic baskets and blankets to enjoy this lovely community family event. Food and drinks will also be available and song books on hand to sing along to your favourite carols.
The event kicks off at 6.30 with the Queensland Services Heritage Band playing a traditional rendition of 'Angels We Have Heard on High' and 'Once in Royal David's City' followed by the popular Christmas carols and tunes of 'Rudolf', 'O Little Town of Bethlehem' and 'It Came Upon'.
There are some sing-a-long classics of 'Happy Christmas', 'Deck the Halls', 'Ding Dong Merrily,' 'Santa Clause is Coming to Town' and 'Merry Christmas' and the always emotive 'Silent Night'.
A Christmas message will be delivered by MAJ Gary Craig of the Salvation Army with carols to end the event to include' O Come all Ye Faithful', 'Away in a Manger' and 'Jingle Bells'.
George Clayton 'Lighthouse' Park is on the Wynnum Manly Esplanade - on the junction with Gordon Parade - between these two lovely village suburbs just 30 minutes for the Brisbane CBD. Plenty of parking is on the roads surrounding the Park.
