I am not very adventurous when it comes to food, but for date night this week my fiancé convinced me to go to Bay of India. Those who know me will tell you that I absolutely with out a doubt HATE curry and hot foods, a dish only has to have one speck in it and I will not touch it, so any sort of Indian food was definitely off the table.
However, my fiancé convinced me to be a little more adventurous and to try new things once in a while. Silently I protested, but I went along.
Once we got there, me still silently protesting, the staff were wonderfully helpful by advising me to try the very mild butter chicken. Feeling the pressure, I ordered the recommended dish, and a garlic naan, my thought was that if I couldn't eat the dish I could at least the naan, my fiancé had the madras beef .
My dinner was served, and it smelled amazing, I anxiously picked up my fork, took a deep breath and tried the tiniest amount of the dish. Pleasantly I was surprised, it was not too hot, I could not taste curry or chilli. I decided to go out on a limb and try another mouthful, and another, and another, until surprisingly, I was at the end of the dish.
The staff were very curious - what did I think? Would I like to try something else? I told them I loved it, and truth be told, it was the delicious. I would definitely be back to try again. Especially because they home deliver!
