Tap your feet, do your best Charleston in this cool bar
Recently I stayed in Sydney CBD and decided to find a Bar I had heard several friends rave about. This was hard to find as it was in a back alley down some narrow steps in a basement with no signage on the front road. Thanks to today's phone technology you can find anything by using Google maps on your phone. So I put the address in and followed the route. I found it after around 15 minutes of walking through town from the Hotel I was staying at.

The Baxter Inn is a hidden gem that was of course gaining notoriety by the fact it was hard to find and once you did there was also at least a 15-30 minute wait to get in depending what time you arrived. It was a very cold winter night, but the smart owners had a couple of heaters strategically placed outside so the patrons wouldn't get too cold while waiting and then walk off. Once inside we could see and hear why it was so popular. It was all decked out in eclectic style furniture and 1920s themed artwork filled the walls. A great mixed bunch of patrons were enjoying music from the roaring twenties and you could see people tapping their feet to the beat creating a great vibe.

The bar was something else, they specialized in possibly every imaginable Whisky and were known for their fantastic Cocktails.

Several barmen were dressed up and extremely friendly while they did their stuff for the crowded bar. The patrons lined the bar ordering Cocktails and watching the Barman's impressive skills.

We had a short wait at the bar until a table became available where we could sit back enjoy the vibe and do some people watching.

If you have been to Palmer and Co in Abercrombie Lane, Sydney then you will love this hidden gem and I assure you it is worth the wait to get in.
