Eleven emerging creative artists have been enlisted to up-cycle and re-design 11 denim jackets which will be on display (and available for purchase) for one night only on 24 October 2015.
Originating in bikie subculture, battle jackets have (like tattoos) crossed over into the mainstream. Typically decorated with patches, badges, metal studs and painted artwork, they are designed to make a statement.
The work shown will be a curated eclectic mix of designed denim jackets by Doominique Furphy, Alex Gillies, Henry Bennett, Jeff Paton, Adriana Mammino, Yah Day, Violet Mermaid, Philip Dearest, Conrad Square, Sloe Motion and Phoebe Paradise.
The bar at Crowbar opens at 5pm, and Jud Campbell, Dane Adamo and QMusic award winner Leanne Tennant will be providing music on the night.
Already own a battle jacket? Wear it to the event and enter the competition to win the 'Jacket of the Day' prize. Entry is $5 per person and the winner takes all!
