The Stay

I stayed in Moree at the Baths Motel for three nights in August 2023. It is on Warialda Street, with the aquatic centre visible from the front of the Baths Motel. My impression of Moree and this motel was they are interesting places to stay, definitely worth seeing at least once, that the Baths Motel is good value and is great for the aquatic centre access, for friendly staff, for comfortable and cosy rooms, and for the management's more than ten years experience in the Moree tourism industry. On that note, certain potential impressions of the property were positives, including comfy beds and a takeaway on-site so customers could get hamburgers and crumbed or battered fish and chips, perhaps after a long day driving. The owner (based on other reviews I read online along with my stay's overall experience), kindly helps with useful stay-related assistance such as transactioning coins for the coin-op laundry, organising tours/ taxis and ensuring everyone is at least enjoying their stay.

Bus Tours (Pick-up from Motel)

Touring the Moree area is possible at the Baths Motel, which is one of many successful businesses in an area's success, which is being driven by consistent globally high demand for cotton, wheat and pecans which are all cultivated in ideal conditions around Moree. I think if liking bore-water spas, agriculture, pecan farms, cotton farms or Lightning Ridge black opals then Moree is the place to be. Moree's O'Dempsey's Charters and Local Tours run tours related to:

  • pecan farms
  • nearby towns
  • cotton farms
  • history tours of Moree
  • Lightning Ridge (in cooler months)

  • And, the aquatic centre on Anne Street is around the corner from the motel for what is a sought-after artesian-bathing venue. The Baths Motel is an ideal base for such tours. It offers reliable accommodation and meals, whilst its staff have plenty of experience in Moree tourism.

  • Note all photos in this review are credited to Baths Motel Moree and their images were seen by the article author during a stay there. It's sensible to at least mention that Moree is quite remote, so despite its tourism, it's quiet, sleepy and spacious. The town has approximately seven to eight thousand people.

I found my trust in the hospitality provided by the Baths Motel was based on the business being established for ten years which I could verify by looking at review dates on TripAdvisor and hotel booking sites. Conversations with the motel's staff were assuring and added to my trust in their business. I ought to conclude by stating that I enjoyed my stay with the Baths Motel thoroughly and would have no qualms about rebooking.
